Resolution on the Course Atlas Appeal to the University Senate

Background

The administration is in the process of implementing Course Atlas. This implementation is a major decision affecting faculty. It has been a long established practice that faculty have a significant responsibility for scheduling courses.

While a committee that included faculty was appointed by the administration prior to implementation of what was then called “Infosilem,” the recommendations of that committee were largely ignored. Other than that committee there has been virtually no consultation with faculty and no consideration for established practice.

Accordingly, by a unanimous vote, the New Brunswick Faculty Council adopted the following Resolution:

The New Brunswick Faculty Council appeals to the University Senate the implementation of Course Atlas without adequate consultation according to University Regulation 50.2.2C.
