Resolution on NBFC Support

Be it resolved that the New Brunswick Faculty Council, as the principal faculty body from which the administration will seek advice and to which the administration will be accountable on New Brunswick campus-wide academic policy issues, requests of the University Vice President of Academic Affairs that the following mechanisms be established to facilitate constructive and efficient action on the part of the NBFC:

  • A university-wide Governance website that will include links to the New Brunswick Faculty Council, the University Senate, student governance bodies, the Faculty Senate (Camden), Faculty Council (Newark) and the Board of Governors.
  • A listserve for all members of the New Brunswick Faculty Council and members of their constituencies who wish to be included.
  • Support -- funds, space, equipment -- from the Office of the University Vice President of Academic Affairs to provide for a staff person to assist the Council Chair with New Brunswick Faculty Council business including taking Minutes, updating records, facilitating elections, making arrangements for meetings, keeping records, disseminating information, and other duties.
  • Support from the Office of the University Vice President of Academic Affairs to the home department of the Council Chair, allowing for teaching release and/or other compensation to the Chair for his/her responsibilities to the New Brunswick Faculty Council.
